HAKÚ: PRESS RELEASE

After the success of her debut album La Selenita, Mexican singer-songwriter NUNNE returned with her second studio album titled Hakú, released on October 23, 2024. This work is a hommage to her best friend Hakú and arises after his recent death. Each song on the album seeks to capture the feelings that NUNNE experiences when remembering her friend, navigating between sadness for her loss, nostalgia for the shared moments, love that transcends death, and the joy of having lived unforgettable experiences together.

This acoustic album is accompanied by three music videos by Canadian director Patrick Poulin: "Vuela", "CantaLuna" and "Nada de Nada". The first, “Vuela,” summarizes the spirit of the album as an elegy to her friend. Created as a form of farewell, both the song ans video were born from NUNNE's pain at not having had the opportunity to say goodbye before his passing. "Vuela" is her way of letting go and paying tribute to him through her music.

In her second single, “CantaLuna,” she idealizes that Hakú sees her every night from the sky. NUNNE speaks to him, asks for forgiveness and expresses her desire to accompany him in his new home. Finally, the third single, “Nada de Nada”, evokes memories where things were said through gazes, a true ode to Hakú's eyes.

These songs, full of emotion and sincerity, promise to evoke as many tears as smiles, connecting deeply with those who have experienced the loss of a loved one. NUNNE continues to demonstrate her ability to transform personal experiences into art, and with this new release, she solidifies her position as one of the most authentic and soulful voices in contemporary Latin music.
